My Writing Space

This week I'm getting ready to go to the Women Writing The West conference in Colorado Springs next weekend. I've belonged to this great organization for a year and I can't wait to see the women I met at last year's conference and greet in person the women I've met through e-mail in the past year.

Recently, someone on the WWW listserv shared a site of Writers' Rooms. I was intrigued with seeing where other people write. So I decided to show you my little corner of the living room where I write. You can see my notebooks and books. But the photo doesn't show the stacks on the piano bench beside the desk or the piles of maps and papers on the dining room table! Nor does it show the trail worn in the carpet to the kitchen, which beckons me every time I get stuck:-)

I loved those photos of Writers Rooms as well. I have always taken Virginia Woolf's "A Room of Her Own" as my touchstone. Since the advent of the computer our Writer Rooms and writing spaces have changed drastically as have our writer bodies.

Nice place to work, Gayle. Thanks for letting us have a peek! I spent last week finding homes for my stacks. It feels great to have a place for my stacks, yet all my stuff is available easily. Enjoying your blog.

I am delighted that you posted this picture and will follow up with a photo album at the WWW conference next week! I wish I could be there to bring a photo but may send one afterwards. Gotta get those curtains hung for the sheets let our grandbaby sleep when she visits but are way ugly! Have a grand time in Colo. Springs!
